Club Membership & Forum FAQs
Who is the English club for?
The club is for adults (18+) who are non-native English speakers and want to practice English through real conversations in a relaxed, social setting.
Members typically range from:
A2 (Beginners): You understand basic grammar and can have simple conversations. Some activities may feel challenging at first, and that’s okay — the club is a supportive space to increase your confidence.
B1–B2 (Intermediate): You are studying English and want to expand your vocabulary and communication skills through regular practice.
C1 (Advanced): You speak fluently and want more opportunities to use English naturally in conversation.
The club is designed specifically for adults. Conversations, topics, and the community style are intended for people using English for study, work, travel, or daily life. Because everything takes place online, limiting membership to adults also helps keep the space safe, simple, and legally appropriate.
* You will be required to confirm your age when registering.
Is it free to join the club?
Yes. Registration and forum participation are free. Members can join discussions, ask questions, and interact in the community.
Zoom group events are paid. Event fees help support the club and make the live sessions possible.
Can I still join the club if I already have a teacher?
Yes. The club is designed to support your learning whether you study with a teacher or on your own.
This is not a classroom and does not replace lessons. Instead, it offers a relaxed, social space to practice what you’re learning, build confidence, and use English in real conversations.
Does the club provide certificates or official English evaluation?
No. The club provides informal conversation practice. It does not offer grades, certifications, recommendations, referrals, language level assessments, or official documentation.
Can native English speakers join the club?
The club is designed for non-native English speakers who want a supportive space to practice and build confidence.
Native speakers may occasionally participate in a supportive role. Their experience, accents, and vocabulary can be helpful for learners.
If you are a native or fluent English speaker interested in supporting the community, you’re welcome to send a message here > Connect < to ask about possible opportunities.
Do I have to join both the forum and the events?
No. You can choose what works best for you. Some members only use the forum, some only attend events, and others enjoy both.
Using both can be helpful, since the forum supports written practice and the events support speaking practice.
Do I have to post or comment in the forum?
No. You can read and observe if you prefer. Members are encouraged to participate, but everyone can join at their own comfort level.
Can I ask English questions in the forum?
Yes. You are welcome to ask questions about vocabulary, expressions, or things you don’t understand. Other members and the club moderator may help by giving answers when possible.
Will my mistakes be corrected in the forum?
The focus is on communication, not perfection. Not every mistake is corrected, but help, suggestions, and explanations are available when helpful or when you ask.
Can I share my personal contact information with other members?
For safety reasons, sharing personal contact information such as email addresses, phone numbers, or social media with other members is not allowed in the forum or group events. The club provides a shared space for communication within the platform.
What kind of comments are allowed in the forum, and what should I do if I feel uncomfortable?
Comments must remain respectful. Posts that include rude language, profanity, bullying, spam, harassment, or harmful remarks about people or groups may be removed. Respectful disagreement is allowed, but personal attacks and offensive comments are not.
If you see a post or comment that concerns you, you can report it using the forum’s report button. Reports are reviewed, and action may be taken to help keep the space safe and respectful.
If your concern is about a situation rather than one specific post, you may reach out through the Connect page.
Can someone lose access to the club?
Yes. Members who repeatedly violate community guidelines or behave in a harmful or disruptive way may lose access to events, the forum, and/or their membership account.
What do I get access to after joining the club?
When you register for the club, you will create your login details (email and password). With that one login, you can:
- Join the conversations in the forum
- Register for events
- Access member-only areas of the site
After you register for your first event, you will be able to use your login details to access the My Events page.
If you have trouble logging in, you can contact support through the Connect page.
How do notifications work?
You can subscribe to forum topics you want to follow. When subscribed, you’ll receive email notifications when there are new posts or replies.
You can turn notifications on or off at any time from the forum.
Why can’t I log into the My Events page yet?
The My Events page becomes active after you complete your first event booking. If you try to log in before booking an event, your login details will not yet be recognized there.
Once you register for your first event, you will be able to access My Events using the same email and password you created when joining the club.
If you still have trouble logging in after booking an event, you can contact support through the Connect page.

Bookings can be canceled up to 6 hours before the event starts. When canceled in time, you may reschedule for another event of the same price or request a refund.
What happens if an event is canceled by the club?
If an event is canceled by the club, members that have already paid for the event will be contacted and offered a refund or option to join another event.
How do refunds work?
Refunds are available only for bookings canceled at least 6 hours before the event. After canceling, you should contact support through the Connect page to request a refund. Refund processing may take 5–7 business days.
Refunds are not available after an event has ended.
What if I miss an event or arrive late?
If you miss an event without canceling in advance, the booking is considered used and refunds are not given.
Late arrivals are welcome while the event is in progress, but refunds or credits are not provided for missed time.
In some cases, event credit may be offered at the club’s discretion.
When are events posted in the club?
There isn’t a fixed weekly schedule. Events are posted as they’re created, and you can join any that fit your availability. In between events, the forum stays open for conversation and connection.
What time zone are events shown in?
Event times are shown in your local time zone based on your device settings. Please double-check the date and time before booking to make sure it works for you.
What’s the difference between regular and special events?
Regular events are the main event types you’ll see in the club and include Let’s Chat!, Let’s Play Games!, and Let’s Talk on Topic!. These are 45 minutes long, cost $10 per person, and have a maximum of 6 participants.
Special events are offered occasionally and may include guest speakers, themed activities, or unique formats. These may have different prices, lengths, and participant limits.
How many people are in each event?
Regular events have a maximum of 6 participants. Small groups help everyone have time to speak and interact.
Special events may allow more participants, depending on the type of event and activity. Details for each special event will be listed when registration opens.
What language is used during events?
Events are held in English to provide consistent practice for all members.
Do I sign up individually or with my own group?
Members register individually. Events bring together participants who sign up on their own.
Private group bookings and one-on-one sessions are not offered. If attending with a friend, each person should register separately for the same event.
What if not many people sign up for an event?
Events may still run with a small group. Smaller groups allow more speaking time and interaction.
In rare cases, events may be rescheduled if needed.
Are events recorded?
No. Events are live and not recorded. This helps create a comfortable space where members can speak freely.
All participants are expected to behave respectfully during events.
What kind of behavior is expected during live events?
Participants are expected to be respectful, patient, and supportive. Anyone who behaves in a disrespectful, inappropriate, or disruptive way may be removed from the event and may lose access to future activities.
Can I share the Zoom link with someone else?
No. Each event booking is for the registered member only.
The Zoom link sent to you is private and tied to your registration. Please do not forward or share the link with others.
If a friend is interested in joining the event with you, invite them to book their own spot through the website. This helps protect the privacy of all participants and keeps the club fair for everyone.
Unauthorized access may result in removal from the event and possible suspension of club access.
Do I need to turn on my camera?
No. Cameras are encouraged to help everyone see each other and communicate more easily, but you can join with audio only.
What do I need to join a Zoom event?
You will need:
• A stable internet connection
• A computer, tablet, or phone
• A working microphone
• A camera is optional
A quiet space and headphones are recommended to help you hear and speak clearly.
After you register, you will receive an email with a Zoom link for your event. You do not need a Zoom account — just click the link to join.
Can I join from my phone?
Yes. Zoom works on phones, tablets, and computers. However, a larger screen and headphones usually make conversation easier.
What if I have technical problems during an event?
Members are responsible for their own internet connection, device, and audio setup. Refunds or credits cannot be given for technical issues outside of the club’s control.
Can I eat or drink during events?
Yes, but please be considerate. Mute your microphone while chewing and avoid speaking with food in your mouth to keep communication clear.
Drinking alcohol and smoking are not allowed during events.
